Prasad Bhandarkar started learning harmonium and vocal music at age 8 from his mother. During his engineering college years he started learning the flute from Shri Anantrao Patwardhan of Mumbai.In 1990, he was fortunate to become a student of Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia. In recent times, Prasad has also taken guidance from Shri Deepak Ram. An engineer by profession with post graduation in Management, Prasad is now based in the San Francisco Bay Area where he has been performing both in solo Bansuri classical concerts and in light music concerts as an accompanist. Prasad also offers Bansuri flute lessons in the San Francisco Bay Area.
